Moonsong Foster Malamutes >> Aspen
Size: Large | Age: Adult | Gender: Male | Breed: Alaskan Malamute
Aspen and Juneau have been evaluated by Moonsong and both are very sweet dogs that would make a great addition to a family.
Hello. Thanks for looking my way! My name is Aspen, and I am very chummy and would like to meet you.
My sister and I were the first two Malamutes adopted after my pregnant mom was rescued from a breeding facility on the top of a Montana mountain. I have lived in Montana at this house ever since I can remember.
I was born in a shelter, so I feel comfortable in a large kennel, but I also love the outdoors. I get along well with my sister, Juneau, and if we were your only dogs; that would be ideal.
My mom and dad had 2 other rescued malamutes when we were adopted. I think they also would like to be the only 2 dogs in the house. Because of that, I think they didn't want to share the house with us. I think that 4 malamutes are a lot to handle, especially because I have a long coat and I need brushing and like someone to rub my belly.
I go for leash walks twice a day with my sister, and the horses in the yard don't pay much attention to us. I also like to sleep a lot. The only thing that really gets my attention is a tumbleweed blowing across the pasture or meeting new people.
I have spring tree-allergies, but I never figured out if it was because there are so many trees above my head here, or if it is just this type of tree. I think that they are cottonwood trees. It is ok though. I just eat a drier type of meal for about 6 weeks in the spring. I don't know if you have ever had allergies, but I look kind of funny and I am a little messy when I eat during this time. I also need to eat slowly during this period, and my mom puts down a towel under my food.
I get to go to the beauty parlor a few times per year, and my mom brushes me almost daily. I get excited to ride in the car, regardless of the destination, but I think I enjoy the beauty parlor more than the vet's office.
My mom and dad says that I am quiet and very behaved. I like them but I would also enjoy meeting you and hanging out with other humans and showing you my tummy to rub. I get along well with my sister, so adopting both of us would be ideal, but I think I would do ok on my own as an only child. That way, I would get all of the attention. But don't worry, I probably sleep more than you do.
