Moonsong Foster Malamutes >> Juneau
Size: Large | Age: Adult | Gender: Female | Breed: Alaskan Malamute
Juneau and Aspen have been evaluated by Moonsong and both are very sweet dogs that would make a great addition to a family.
Hello. Thanks for looking my way! My name is Juneau, and I am 100% malamute and hear that I am very well-behaved and good-looking. Everyone always mentions how good-looking my teeth are.
My brother and I were the first two Malamutes adopted after my pregnant mom was rescued from a breeding facility on the top of a Montana mountain. I have lived in Montana at this house ever since I can remember.
I was born in a shelter, so I feel comfortable in a large kennel, but I also love the outdoors. I get along well with my brother, Aspen, and if we were your only dogs; that would be ideal. There are a lot of dog-houses and igloos in my yard, along with a sandy area to lie under trees, but I have a particular dog house that I like to snuggle in. Don't get me wrong, I always like to lie on the kitchen floor or next to a chair I like, but there is something about the first dog-house next to the gate. Maybe it's because I don't want to miss anything and it gives me a good vantage point to see what is going on.
My mom and dad had 2 other rescued malamutes when we were adopted. I think they also would like to be the only 2 dogs in the house. Because of that, I think they didn't want to share the house with us. I think that 4 malamutes are a lot to handle, especially because I have a long coat and I need brushing and I like to hang around when my parents watch TV.
I go for leash walks twice a day with my brother, and the horses in the yard don't pay much attention to us. I also like to sleep a lot. The only thing that really gets my attention is a tumbleweed blowing across the pasture or meeting new people.
In the spring, sometimes I don't eat for a day or so, because there is so much pollen around here. My mom just gives me a zantac for a couple of days, and I feel normal again.
I get to go to the beauty parlor a few times per year, and my mom brushes me almost daily. I get excited to ride in the car, regardless of the destination, but I think I enjoy the beauty parlor more than the vet's office. Sometimes the groomer uses thinning sheers on me because she says that it tangles less later on. Whatever works is fine, because I really like the way I look after she is finished with me.
My mom and dad says that I am quiet and very behaved. I like them but I would also enjoy meeting you and hanging out with other humans and showing you my tummy to rub. I get along well with my brother, so adopting both of us would be ideal, but I think I would do ok on my own as an only child. That way, I would get all of the attention. But don't worry, I probably sleep more than you do.
