Moonsong Foster Malamutes >> Wilder
Size: Medium | Age: Adult | Gender: Male | Breed: Siberian Husky
Wilder here! I’ve been told that I’m very cute and photogenic. You’re probably surprised to see me on a Malamute Rescue website since I’m a husky. Thank DOG for Moonsong for rescuing me; I was going to be euthanized because the shelter I was in didn’t have an adoption program.
I’m fun sized, weighing in around 50 pounds. Being smaller I can get intimidated by bigger dogs but with slow introductions, I do well with dogs over 20 pounds. I prefer ladies over men and walk well on leash unless I see a squirrel! No cats or farm animals for me because I want to chase them.
I don’t mind being brushed but baths are not my thing. My foster family is teaching me with positive reinforcement (treats and praise) to not greet people by jumping on them. It’s a bit embarrassing, but sometimes if I get overly excited, I pee. My tummy is sensitive, so I eat special kibble and like some dogs I can scale a 6’ fence easily so I need to be supervised in the yard. I am crate trained and sleep quietly in my crate all night. I’m good with children over 6 if they are respectful.
If you’re looking for a fun sized northern breed, then I’m your boy!
