Hey! Would you look at that handsome dude in the picture! I know I look an awful lot like Sage who was recently adopted, but guess what? I happen to be a striking young male who is searching for that perfect fur-ever home of my own!
My name is Clifford; like the ‘Big Red Dog’ in the kids’ book, but since I’m a Siberian Husky, I am not nearly that big. I am still very much a youngster at a year and a half old and weigh about 45 pounds. Because I came from a backyard breeding situation and was neglected, I really don’t know what it is like to have a family and the love I deserve, but I have a feeling that would be amazing!!
Since I kind of lack basic manners because no one has ever taken the time to teach me, I am looking for a patient family who is willing to work with me so I can become that perfect inside dog I want to be. I recently moved to a nice kennel in Montana and am looking forward to receiving training (basic obedience training, socialization, housetraining, etc.) that will help me transition to a home easier but interested families will need to be committed to continuing my training to help me excel.
I am what some folks would call your typical husky; energetic, bouncy and have demonstrated my escape artistry by scaling a 8-foot chain link fence. That being said, I think that if I get the right training, stimulation and exercise those behaviors will become much less likely as they did with other recent Moonsong Alum’s Cece, Indy and Sage.
Despite having a rough start, I really LOVE people, and nothing would make me happier than being able to shadow a hooman family of my own. I am very eager to interact and can promise you endless companionship because I don’t care for being alone all that much. I will need a very active and patient home with a secure yard but can promise the payback will be incredible!
Oh, and one more thing. I think I would do best in a home with another confident female fur sibling because when I came into rescue, I was bonded with my girlfriend Willow who was the only companion I have ever really known. Now that she has been adopted, I am a little on the lonely side and would love to have a furry pal to help show me the ropes.
Moonsong is still learning more about me every day and will provide updates on progress. Although I do not think I would not do well in a home with cats, male and female dogs who are similar in size may be possible with proper introductions. If you are interested, please complete an application.
