Hi! I’m Peanut, a friendly and loving dog with a chill personality. My foster mom is always raving about my good behavior and jokes about me being a lazy Husky! I am friendly with everyone I meet, including kids and other dogs who are friendly as well. I have experience being around cats and, with proper introductions, I could coexist with one!
I enjoy outdoor adventures like walks and hikes, though I am content just lounging around where my family is. I get to go on outings to the farmers market and restaurant patios, turning heads with my handsome looks and relaxed behavior. I’ve mastered basic commands like, come, sit, stay, shake and place.
I’m also very polite when new people come to the house or when I meet them outside. I don’t jump on them or get too excited, just wag my tail and sniff them gently. When you’re away, I’m good at staying home alone without causing any trouble. But I do enjoy having something fun to do, like a puzzle toy or a Kong filled with yummy treats.
Unlike many dogs of my breed, I don’t pull on the leash when we walk around town or the neighborhood. I’m relaxed and well-mannered, enjoying the sights and smells at your pace. The only time I get a little excited is when we go on hiking trails, where I feel the call of the wild and want to explore more. That’s why I’ve been working on my off-leash training, which I think would suit me better on safe trails where I can run and sniff without bothering anyone.
I love morning cuddles and walks the most; I’ll signal when it’s time to leave and enjoy relaxing by your side afterwards. My crate is my sanctuary, and a blanket on top provides a sense of privacy.
My favorite things to do each day are cuddling with my people, going for walks, lounging in the backyard under the sun, napping in my cozy crate, and getting treats for being a good boy.
I’m an intelligent dog, quick to learn, eager to please, and have completed an extensive training program—with three additional sessions available for my new family to help me adjust. I’m sweet, need stability, activity, and affection, and I am ready to offer lots of love in return. Suitable for apartment living with an active person, I’d get along with calm, respectful kids aged 8 or up.
