Hi, I’m Olaf a male Alaskan Malamute with a big personality! I like daily walks, hiking, mountain biking with my person, playing fetch and a good snooze fest. I’m that rare Malamute that plays fetch and sometimes I get so excited that I get the zoomies! All I need is to hear you cheer me on, clap your hands and I’m game for a session of fetch. I’ll even bring the ball back to you about 80% of the time!
Another thing I love is car rides. I love to hang my head out the window to feel the breeze through my fur. My car riding abilities are epic, I’ve been known to go on 15-hour road trips, have visited several states and think it’s fun to stay in hotels.
Like most Mals, I can’t get enough snow – my name is Olaf after all. Being on a long leash and romping in the snow is the best! I’m also partial Malagator…you know if you know. I don’t swim but love to hang out in the water.
I completed a board and train program that helped me improve my leash walking; I still pull when I first get out, I’m excited! I know sit, down, roll over (in the grass), shake, high-five, wait, break, go to bed, and load up. It will be easy to reinforce my training because I’m food motivated. Some of my favs are steak, eggs, romaine lettuce, carrots, and watermelon. Crunchy veggies are the best but give me watermelon and I’m your bestie.
My wish list for my forever home is being part of the family that will take me on adventures, likes to give belly rubs, and having a dog hang with you while watching TV. Older children that are polite are okay, maybe another playful dog would be pawsome, a slow introduction with a potential brother or sister would be needed because I play Mally style. Or I’d be more than happy to be an only dog!
