Hello! My name is Raine and I am a cuddly and loving young girl, in October I will be two! My owners that had me since I was a puppy had to give me up and were sad about it. My sister had to say goodbye as well, so it was doubly difficult.
I had spay surgery on June 11th, so I am still in the healing phase. I am being fostered in Cody, Wyoming with a Moonsong board member who seems to think I am mighty special! I haven’t been allowed to rough house with my sibling sister (yes, she is here too), so it’s been hard to contain my youthful exuberance!
So far, this is what my foster mom has learned: I have been amazing when it comes to allowing the cleaning and doctoring of my spay incision. I gladly roll over and let the work begin. Not many dogs would allow someone to do that, a person they’ve not been with for very long. I get a lot of praise and “you are such a good girl” comments! I’ve had to wear a goofy T-shirt fashioned into a onesie to keep me from scratching at the wound, and a soft cone. Sorry for the lack of pictures without the costumes, but it is for my safety. I certainly have prey drive….. I can see those rabbits across the driveway and wish I could go on a merry chase. Any smaller dogs may not be a good fit for me and cats either.
Proper introductions to other larger dogs will be a must. But I have lived with several others, and I also have shown how much I would like to play with my foster mom’s dog. But we can’t since I am still healing. I will be protective of my food bowl with other dogs, so will need to be fed separately and the food bowl picked up when I have finished. I’m not afraid to get my front paws up on things, (think COUNTERTOP), so keep things out of my reach. I am a busy bee, after all.
