Hi my name is Stotty! My family got me as a puppy in 2017 in Nevada City, California. They say I was instantly lovable and very friendly. The drive home was uneventful, I fell asleep for the 3-hour drive. It didn’t bother me at all to be in the car. When we got home, I became the prize possession of their other Mal, an older female. I learned all the important dog stuff since I was always with her and I listened to the commands she paid attention to. Our property was over an acre and we had plenty of room for exercise. We lived rurally, so we took lots of routine walks in the country where I was exposed to wild horses and other dogs. The more I grew up, the more I became lovable to all who met me. I have never growled or barked at people. I did growl at our neighbor’s dog through the fence, but that was about it. The neighbors had a pretty aggressive dog, and I didn’t appreciate the names he called me. I love to go for rides in the car.
This winter we got a lot of snow, and I like to go out and watch my human shovel the driveway. I will sniff around and eventually find a place to sit and observe. In my mind I assume I am a toy breed; my humans’ laps are so inviting! I am so special; I have even lived peacefully with a Mally-wise cat! We used to play together a lot when I was growing up. The only infraction in my entire life was a run-in with chickens. We will let it go at that.
I really love getting hugs and also being brushed so I’m even more handsome. Best of all I love hanging out and walking with my Hooman Dad and love meeting other dogs on walks through the neighborhood. I enjoy making new dog friends as I love them all. My Dad takes me to work almost every day and I’m always told how well behaved and handsome I am. You know I really enjoy taking him for walks and I’m always making sure I walk nicely and don’t pull on leash. Everyone gets a big kick out of watching me playing with the toys they were so kind to get for me.
I’m a quiet boy who doesn’t bark and I’ve done fine when left home waiting for them to come home and give me belly rubs. In the past living with another dog we hit it off great.
I can’t stop smiling because I heard my foster pawrents tell someone “he’s super funny and positive. He’s the easiest dog we ever fostered out of 13!”
So far I haven’t found anything that I dislike and love to see how happy I make everyone when I listen really well to instructions. Hey, if I please them I know I’ll get something tasty (don’t tell them I told you this).
My first day in my foster home I was just learning about my new place so I guarded my bed but I realized right away it was mine and they also gave me some cool toys too, so we’re all good with that. So a slow start the first day or so is all I need to get settled in.
While on leash I’ve met small children in our neighborhood while on walks so I listen carefully to instructions and enjoy saying hi to them. I like adults too. I hope you will decide I am the one to join your family!
